Gruebb Ltd formulates speciality lubricants and greases for industry and marine applications. Clients use our expertise to develop products for them that reduce production costs and solve problems. For instance we supply the largest copper and stainless steel tube producers in the UK with class leading, cost effective tube drawing oils. Likewise, our knowledge solved key technical problems associated with biodegradable products used in deepsea vessels. We routinely work with manufacturers to come up with new solutions to old problems. For example, a new tube bending lubricant for the nuclear industry based upon an environmentally friendly recyclable product in a "lost wax" process.
In truth, we are motivated by technology and solving a problems We are usually called in when traditional supplier options have got no-where. We operate in a simple way. Engineers send us an e-mail stating their problem and we reply if we can do anything for them or not. If we can, we like to speak to an engineer or even visit the plant to see the application. The ability of a lubricant to solve mechanical problems is sometimes forgotten. Once we're satisfied we understand the problem, we work with the client to identify key requirements of the new product. Once this is established, we start formulating and usually send one or two samples for performance testing. There are no charges for formulation work.
